Do I have to call it a resolution?

I have decided not to call my resolution a resolution... Instead I will be "working" on serval areas of my life, home and family. I am one of those people that when you call it a resolution for some reason I can not stick to it just can't don't know why!

Instead I will just be "working" in general on myself, our family and my home. For sometime now these things have taken second place to other areas of my life. I will also be striving to be a Proverbs 31 woman. So it is back to us and I am proud of myself for being able to realize that is what is needed. I want to be a better more efficient wife and mother. My journey may seem easy to most of you but I am stuck in my ways. And it will be a harder change for me than anyone else. But I am serious about taking our lives, calenders, so on and so fourth back.

Somethings that I am looking forward to change because they are not working for me.

:Bedtime and sleeping arrangements- Duece sleeping in my room or bed most of the time. Jesse has taken to sleeping on the couch. And no one falls asleep anywhere near the 8:00 bedtime.

: Morning routine- Because I am not a morning person I own this one.... I will now be getting up before everyone else (Michael if you read this-Just work with me here it may take a day or two!)

:Afternoons and Homework time- This is also my fault...I am not good about making them come in have a snack and do homework so they are free for their afternoon activities.

:My calender- This one will most likely be the hardest for me because I can't say no to anything. If you ask me I will do almost anything. And sometimes I force little Cooper to go along for the ride when he would rather be at home playing not out volunteering with mommy. So if you were going to ask me to do something at the school, church or anywhere for that matter my new answer will be I need to consider it and pray about it and then get back to you....So get ready!

:My housework- Confession time...I hate housework NO I mean I really hate it! I do like a clean house I just hate doing all the work knowing my 3 little ones will mess it up in 2 seconds flat. But too bad now this is one area of my stay at homeness I need to get a handle on. No matter what it means.

:Time Management- Well who doesn't need improvement on this one???? I will let you know how is goes because I am not sure if I am able to better manage my time.

:Spending more time with my Heavenly Daddy- This is something I need to just plain old do more of. I don't spend enough time in prayer or study so I am looking to improve that!

Well this list could go on and on. But I will spare you the going ons and on! I guess when you get down to it this really is a resolution. I can not under any circumstances call it one or I will not stick to it! I hope that this year I will be able to be the Proverbs 31 women God wants me to be.

I wish all of my friends and family a Happy New Year...Full of blessing overflowing, revolutions, lots of happiness and more love than you can stand. Oh and if you are brave share what you are resolving for 2010!

  1. If you get a handle on the housekeeping, let me know what you did because I need mega help in that area as well. I hate it, and, like you, feel like it's a futile act.

Also, getting up before everyone else has made my life so much better. I have to go to bed earlier than I would like, but I am able to get enough sleep which allows me to get up early to enjoy some "me time" before everyone else gets up and starts demanding my attention.
